The Little Prince was first published by Reynal & Hitchcock, Inc. on 6th April, 1943. Le Petit Prince was published by the same publishers a little bit later. The none printing-number(s) version(s) has/have no colophon and the address of the publisher was changed to Mazison Avenune. The prices were $2.00 untill 5th printing and chaneged to $2.50 6th/later printings.

The first printing of the fist edition. The price was $2.00.-.
I have more 3 copies of signed/limited version.

Peach (so called "salmon") color and dark yellow-green color covers with the jackets.
Jacket of the first edition first printing is very rare now.

There is no printing number. The 5-lines colophon is on the last page.

Elise Pearlman wrote : “Cloth covered boards that are clearly suggest that the book is a first edition, as it seems that this color was never used again in later printings. I have never seen a salmon book that was not a first edition.” Maybe she did not know this dark yellow green version and the 2nd printing with peach color (following section).

The peach colored copiy is undoubtedly 2nd printing.

The printing number
Except the first and the last printings, the printing numbers (in the red ellipse on the above image) were pressed at the bottom of the backside of the title page. This example is the 2nd printing.

I have only 3 copies of the same color (so called "tan" color).

No printing number version(s).
So called "tan" color. There is no knowing of the printings.
