It seems likely that Reynal & Hitchcock, Inc. adopted a strategey to tie up with a canadian publisher on the distribution of the book over Canada.

There exists a book which was published by Beauchemin, Montreal/Reynal & Hitchcock, New York. The book is entirely the same as the 1st printing of Reynal & Hitchcock, Inc. except the title page.

The only difference is the title page. Two publisher's names are listed. [Elise Pearlman (Firsts 13(8); 22 - 29, 2003) suggested the run number as 500.]

To our quite surprise, a book appeared on an auction. That was 2nd printing of Le Petit Prince from the Beauchemin, Ltd. Althogh I won it, The book was damaged by an erroneous work of sprinklers and I was not able to get it. By the courtesy of the seller, I show you the images below.
